Storybird

On this post, I wanted to tell you about a digital book app "storybird". This was my first time using this app but I can say that it is easy to use for students. The app includes two parts; one is writing your own story, the other one is reading the written stories. 
Writing option is unfortunately not free but reading is free.  You can choose a story about any topic you want. From beasts, adventures to real life topics, anything is avaliable.

      

When I first looked through my options, I saw this story about coronavirus. It caught my attention so I read it. It was really useful for kids and there are more stories that can help kids daily life knowledge. However, from a language teacher perpective I can suggest this app to test students reading and writing skills. You can give homeworks about writing a sci-fi story to your students and they can use this app. They can use different cartoon characters, interesting pictures to enrich their story which is both entertaning and educating. So, students would be more willing to write in English because of such an interesting app.

9th Week

 Hello everyone. Today I want to talk about the process of the project we're working on as usual. This week was rather bussier as we have our final exams and assignments. Unfortunately I couldn't do anything proper this week. I only bookmarked some articles on Mendeley. I couldn't even read them but I believe I will have read by the end of the week. However, we didn't waste our time. We had a Zoom meeting with our teacher. We asked some of the questions we had in mind. We mentioned some of the problems we faced while searching our topic. In the end the meeting was really informative and pur teacher helped us get some ideas on how to move forward with the project.  After the meeting we also discussed some points as a group. We decided to create opportunities from  the struggles we were facing. Now I have a clearer mind about everything we do.

Hi everyone!!! Ill be talking about the app called Seesaw on this post. Seesaw is an application for both students and teachers to use. Today was my first time using this app so I'll give you my 100% honest opinions. First you have to sign up and I did sign up as a teacher to give a better review. After the signing up process, you are ready to have a class, activity. As you can see you have to the grade of your students then you can post student work or an activity. I tried my first activity on the app. To be honest, it was hard until i figure out the links and attachments. To assign an activity you see this page and all you have to do is type your instructions for the assignment then add pictures, voices or links about the assignment.  As you can see I left a picture for students to edit as I also ask them to add photos and a voice record to tell the colours of the items around them.
